Frostbites on fleek

While I was in NYC watching my fingers turn purple in 30 degrees half of my college was turning up in Miami. Lucky right? Despite the terrible temperatures I managed to stay cute and toasty, so I thought. Unbeknownst to me, I packed for a Floridian winter not a New Yorkan winter. Yeah I said New Yorkan. But I learned fabulously quickly what to wear during winter in the big apple. Trust me, it's no joke.

New Yorkers know how to stay balmy without looking bulky. How? Layers layer layers. Can't stress this enough. They layer on several tops such as undershirts, tanks and thermals. When possible they don't neglect layering their bottoms too.

Although the failure of me packing correctly for winters I've never endured, packing light tops to layer with was key. Staying stylishly warm isn't impossible. My outfit is a perfect example. I bypassed the bloated look for a simpler and sleeker look. Underneath the mustard knit top, I have on one t-shirt and a crew neck sweater. Then I throw on the heavy faux fur to seal in the warmth. Easy!

Puffer jackets although warm, don't match with everything. Coats can be just as warming, especially when your pair it with a scarf.

Shout out to @kreaytion Krystal for styling me and Love @LLVisuals for the photographs. Did you peep the Fila Disruptor 1 though?

Comment below if you've ever been to New York. What's the coldest place you've been and how did you dress for it?
